Performers Set for Edinburgh's Princes' Street Gardens Ross Theatre Posted

week, the magnificent green valley of West Princes' Street Gardens is to provide
the setting as 50 musicians from The Guard of His Majesty The King of Norway and
the West Indian Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra take centre
stage at the Ross to present a sparkling display of music, melody and rhythm. In
conjunction with The Royal Bank of Scotland, Oslo's HM Kongens Garde will give
a free one-hour concert from 12.30pm on Wednesday 10th August while the Caribbean's
premier Steel Band are scheduled to make their appearance at the Ross the following
day, Thursday, August 11th at 12.30pm. That
day, the Steel Band will be joined by Pipers from Scotland's Regiment for a unique
pipes/steel pan rendition of Amazing Grace. These
two free mini-shows will feature some of the finest musicians in the Norwegian
and Trinidad & Tobagan Military with a repertoire which includes music of
European and African origin. Both
bands are participating at this month's record-breaking Edinburgh Tattoo (5-27
August 2005). Said
