NUMBERS OF PRE-REGISTRATIONS FOR
THE EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO VISIT TO AUSTRALIA

greatest outdoor spectacle seen in Australia since
the opening ceremony of the 2000 Olympics
Since
the launch of The Edinburgh Military Tattoo's first ever visit
to Australia only six weeks ago there has been huge interest for
tickets from all over Australia, and New Zealand.
Pre-registrations
have now reached record numbers with over 20,000 people having
registered their interest for tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to see the Tattoo live in Sydney.
The
Edinburgh Military Tattoo is the most spectacular show and is
enjoyed by an international television audience of 100 million
people, and for the first time in history, the Tattoo will perform
live in Australia. Over 1300 performers including military bands
from five countries, pipes and drums and supporting performers
will take part in this incredible event.
The
Edinburgh Military Tattoo was conceived and first performed in
1950 as the Army in Scotland's contribution to the Edinburgh International
Festival. Today, with its unique blend of music, ceremony, entertainment,
and theatre set against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, it is
without question one of the world's greatest shows.
The
Edinburgh Military Tattoo will perform on 3, 4 and 5 February
2005. Tickets for performances will go on sale over the counter
to the general public in August, 2004 with priority ticket sales
to pre-registered members of the public a number of weeks prior.
