PRODUCER'S PRESS BRIEFING AT EDINBURGH CASTLE

Featuring
the programme launch for the Tattoo's Queen's Golden Jubilee production
and a live performance from a dynamic North East Indian cultural
group from Imphal
on Wednesday 24 July 2002
Details
of the complete programme for the forthcoming Queen's Golden Jubilee
Tattoo (2-24 August), which Her Majesty will attend on August
5 and is set to include the largest gathering of Pipes & Drums
and Massed Military Bands ever seen on the Castle Esplanade together
with the first UK appearances of Dhol Cholom, Pung Cholom and
Thang-Ta from North East India and a unique Dutch bicycle band,
Trompetterkorps Bereden Wapens, will be revealed by Tattoo Chief
Executive & Producer, Brigadier Jameson, in the Jacobite Room
of Mills Mount Restaurant at Edinburgh Castle on Wednesday 24
July 2002 at 10.00am.
The
Producer will also provide participation particulars about the
eagerly anticipated attendance of hundreds of Commonwealth performers
from the four corners of the globe including Australia, Canada,
New Zealand and South Africa.
An
unusual glimpse of what's in store next month will be furnished
by an advance party of Dhol Cholom, Pung Cholom and Thang-Ta from
India. Plus, representatives from the New Zealand Army Band, and
the Bands of the 10th / 27th Royal South Australia Regiment and
the Royal Corps of Musicians from Tonga, will also be present.
The
Lord Provost of Edinburgh, the Rt Hon Eric Milligan, Chairman
of the Tattoo Board, will also be on hand for comment.
